About Jazz At The Amp

Jazz At The Amp is an outdoor summer
jazz concert series created by SEMM Foundation in 2016.  It was first presented in partnership with Westerville Parks and Recreation, SEMM Foundation and its 24 hour jazz radio station Jazz 98.5 FM, WSAX radio.

2016 was the inaugural season of The
Jazz At The Amp series, consisting of
four concert days that occurred on the
second Saturday of each month between June and September.  The first season featured jazz from a variety of jazz sub-genres, from smooth jazz to classic big band jazz.  The series fast became the talk of the town for being the must go to place in the summer for live jazz in an inviting outdoor setting.

The 2017 Jazz At The Amp was expanded to seven concert days that began in July and ran through mid August. Our 2017 Jazz At The Amp line-up featured some of the best of our Homegrown jazz artists and groups, as well as invited national jazz acts.

Jazz fans heard music from several jazz sub-genres, saw great performances and best of all, each concert was FREE to attend. The 2017 series lineup offered our listeners, jazz fans and live music lovers alike, some of the best talent in the country featuring saxophonist Paul Taylor, trumpeter Cindy Bradley, pianist Brian Simpson, saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa, guitarist Matt Marshak, Urban Jazz Coalition, NexLevel, saxophonist Deon Yates, The Rick Brunetto Big Band, The Tommy Wade Orchestra and a tremendous lineup of our Homegrown jazz artists and groups.

The 2018 season was even better!  Between June and August,
Jazz At The Amp featured performances from Kim Waters, Nick Colionne, Eric Darius, NexLevel, Copecetic, Greg Bandy & The Jazz Alliance, Four80East, Jackiem Joyner, with the return of Brian Simpson and Paul Taylor.

The 2019 season promises to be even more dynamic and entertaining!  Tune to Jazz 98.5 FM, WSAX for details and great jazz 24 hours each day.  Visit the Jazz 98.5 FM website to listen to music featuring great smooth jazz, jazz fusion, classic jazz, straight-ahead jazz, Homegrown music, classic Big Band, Gospel jazz, blues, classic R&B and more.
